Little Man - Graduation

We attended Jase's preschool graduation on Friday night and yes I will admit it up front - I got a little teary eyed. There were 6 kids graduating and Jase was excited for days before. We got to Play Pals and Jase immediately took us inside to show us "his" seat and cap. Miss Linda had chairs set up (about 20) and needless to say Jase's clan took up about about half the room.

The ceremony started and I was startled by the wonderful and amazing powers that the graduation cap had over Jase. I think at one point I even commented that if I had known he would sit that still with a cap like that one, I would have made him one years ago.

Miss Linda gave a small speech which contained some wonderful quotes about watching the little ones grow and then it was time. Since Colin was having a bit of stage fright, Jase got to go first. Miss Linda called his name and up he went and to the "stage". With each child, Linda had asked them a few questions before hand and they would now get to speak a little. So Miss Linda proceeds to ask Jase what he wants to be when he grows up - Jase's response "A Firefighter". That was classic. Not classic because being a firefighter is a noble and honorable profession. No it was classic because DAD is a police officer and that is what Jase has been telling us for the last few weeks that he wants to be. (I blame the change on the construction of the new fire station on Cherry St. Maybe this means he really wants to be an architect.) Either way we wouldn't care - it was just humorous at the moment.

The rest of the children get their turn to cross the stage and the ceremony is closed with Miss Linda reading a book to her kids for the last time. (tear tear). She read "Where do Balloons Go?" by Jamie Lee Curtis. It was a wonderful book - Jamie Lee Curtis should have started writing books years ago.

With the ceremony over and a quick snack and drink. The Jase entourage headed to the restaurant of Jase's choice - The Restaurant with the Beautiful Chairs (aka - Dos Primos).

It was a wonderful evening. I really cannot believe how fast Jase (my little baby) is growing up. Jase's first day at the big school, for summer school, is Wednesday. Man, that is going to be hard.
